Yokohama is a generous city and has accepted many people since its port opened for trade with foreign countries over 160 years ago.   It may be the reason why Yokohama, a small village with about 100 houses at that time, has grown rapidly to become the 2nd largest city in Japan.

  In the meantime, many buildings were constructed since opening of the port, however, because of the great Kanto earthquake and the air raid during the WWII, we lost some of the historical sites/buildings.

We are ready to introduce the charms and attraction of Yokohama, both new and old, to the people who are interested in our city.
